If you want to make money online with a content creation business, the best thing to do is to figure out how many pieces of content you would like to create and put your head down until you create them. Don’t look at how much money you’re making. You should look at the views, but only within the scope of the standards of your industry. This means that you’re often going to get very average, or possibly even “low” results at first. You might want to start doing aggressive marketing or looking for gimmicks. Don’t. If you keep creating content, you’re going to be rewarded. The best way to make money online is to find a content niche and put your head down until you dominate it. When you do, you’ll have a ton of knowledge along with a license to print money.
Overnight successes are very rare
This is the hard truth of the matter. Becoming an overnight success isn’t that easy. You need to be talented, lucky, and focused on the right niche. Counting on one piece of content to be a hit is a very bad idea. You want to find the balance between quantity and quality. This is usually best done by going heavy on the quantity in the beginning. The best way to become a master at something is through practice, right?
Even if you are an overnight success, there’s a limit to how much you’re going to gain from one piece of content
A YouTube video with 1 billion views can be worth millions of dollars, but that tends to be the rough limit. I’ve never heard of a YouTube video with over 3 or 4 billion views, and most YouTube videos don’t even break 100 million. This means that you’re likely going to need to produce a lot of your own content before you can really count on earning passive income from it. This applies to pretty much any content format. They all have a limit. So, setting a certain content floor for yourself is a good way to know how much you need to produce in order to put yourself on the map. Content trickles down. When someone watches a hit video or reads a hit article, the rest of your stuff gets attention. So planning on creating a large body of content is the best way to set up an online business.
Figure out a good number of posts
I found out that there are about 50 billion web pages on the internet, and about 1 billion websites. This means that the average website has about 50 pages on it, give or take. 90% of revenue goes to 10% of all people in any given industry, I know I want to guarantee myself a spot in the top 1%. This means that I know I want to create about 500 blog posts and should start seeing major results as I break 200 posts. This has been the case in my journey. The more I’ve written, the more results I’ve seen. If you’re creating content, you want to find out how much the other content creators are creating on the platform of your choice. This will give you a rough idea of how much content you want to produce. It will also give you an idea of the level of quality you’re aiming to reach. When you’ve established a presence, you can start taking risks.
Just create, so that you can put yourself on the map
Do a good job when you’re creating content, but just create content. Don’t focus on anything else. When in doubt, make another piece of content. The fact of the matter is that your favorite bloggers, YouTubers, and celebrities all have tons of content on the internet, whether it’s on YouTube, social media, or their own site. If you don’t have a certain amount of stuff posted to the web, you might as well be silent. As stated before, from what I’ve seen your blogging journey truly begins after you’ve written 200 articles. It’s probably a similarly high number when it comes to YouTube and TikTok. Just put your head down until you’ve created a lot. Once you’ve created a lot you can look to getting better.
Pick a high value skill or niche
People don’t always take off online. Online success is random. Going viral depends on the algorithm, and then people’s tastes. Choosing a high value niche is your hedge against failure. It’s a lot easier to succeed when you’re earning 10 cents to a dollar per view than when you’re only earning a cent or two. Go for a high value niche before you grind.
Content creation is a grind. But thankfully, it’s a grind that pays off exponentially. The more you know and the more you create, the better you do. Just make sure that you’re keeping pace with the times and following the conventions of your industry. You should be fine. The bar is pretty low nowadays when it comes to what counts for good content. If you take the time to learn your craft and stick to a reasonable schedule, you should be able to perform better than most. Just figure out how many pieces of content you want to produce, and get going.
Thanks for paying attention.
