A little while ago, I wrote a very silly article. I said that affiliate marketing wasn’t a good way to make money online. This was a very shortsighted and silly post to make. Affiliate marketing is the bread and butter of internet marketers, and I will be doing a bit of it on this blog. Depending on how my life looks in the future, I may engage in some direct response media buying. The thing about direct response is that it is often for products that don’t have longevity. If I will be investing in direct response marketing if I can find a way to get my hands on some equity. This will either come in the form of an email list or a revenue share program. I’m not sure which, but I’ll be making it happen if I spot the opportunity. My change of heart came about for two reasons, and I’ll detail them below.
The statistics are likely wrong
Getting data matters. Getting good data matters even more. If you don’t get good data, you develop mistaken beliefs and make errors in judgment. The statistics on affiliate marketing told me that the industry was worth about $18 billion globally. While this is true, it also means affiliate marketing is not a *massive* industry if we look at things on a global scale. E-commerce, for example. Knowing this fact, I made the inference This doesn’t make any sense when you think about it deeply. Who knows how much is being spent on affiliate marketing by different companies? How is this figure being measured? It isn’t, and there is no way to do so effectively.
We have absolutely no way of telling how much money is being made with affiliate marketing. Any two people can strike a deal with each other and make an affiliate program. All it takes is a discussion and a bit of software. There is absolutely no way of measuring this stuff. Since we know nothing about how many people are affiliate marketing and how much money they are making, we can basically throw all the statistics in the trash, and assume that there are a lot of people actually making some money affiliate marketing. We’ll need to scour the internet, and look at who’s getting a lot of traffic in order to find them. But with a bit of research and thought, you can definitely infer who’s affiliate marketing and making money online. The best examples of modern-day affiliate marketers I can think of are the people who make strange YouTube ads, usually promising money or the key to attracting women. These guys are getting traffic, because they’re paying for it. They’re probably turning a profit because there are a lot of these ads.
Affiliate Marketing Is About Inspiring People To Buy
Trends change. New products come about, and new ways for the general public to fulfill incentives are invented. At the end of the day, people want to be happy and comfortable. Affiliate marketing is all about convincing them that a product can make them happy or comfortable. You want your customers to buy something they had never thought of buying before. Very few of the products that are shown in YouTube or Facebook ads are well known. If they hadn’t come to the users’ attention, many of them would likely not have bought. This makes affiliate marketing a bit different from other forms of business, which hinge more on customers’ needs and intent. Affiliate marketing allows you to present something new to people. This means you can technically “go” and “get” your money, from a practical perspective.
Affiliate Marketing Is An Infinite Market
The act of affiliate marketing requires investment. This investment comes either in the form of money for ads or organic content that draws views and clicks. The cost of the organic content is the time you put into it. This means that when people take on affiliate marketing, new money is technically being created, as these marketers are taking risks to help the market. Every purchase made balances the market. It might not be immediately obvious how, but every dollar spent has a ripple effect on the global economy. Everything is interconnected.
Whenever there is a competent affiliate marketer who creates a good, convincing campaign, new money is created. The right customer will take out loans, and use the product you sell them to better themselves financially. If they don’t benefit from the product, you can consider it a reallocation of the market. As long as the product isn’t a complete scam, the money is better off in the product maker’s hands. They are more likely to invest it into productive ventures for society, even if their only incentive is to beat inflation. As long as it’s not an unhealthy product or a complete scam, I think choosing to be an affiliate marketer is a net positive for society.
If you think you’ve found a product that you can affiliate market, go ahead and do it. I think there’s a lot of power in fighting for what you believe in. It gives you the most power to get rich, even though it’s difficult. The more time you put into it, the more in control of your income you become. When I first started writing, I had no concept of making money online. Then I began blogging, and I got my first 1,000 views. Following that, I sold my first set of books. Now, I’ve crafted a voice for myself, and I know how to get traffic. Soon, drumming up an audience will be like nothing. The same will apply to you if you’re smart and have an interest in affiliate marketing. Ignore my previous article. If you want to do it, I suggest you do it.
