I might be giving away my location, but the country I’m in is one of the poorest in Latin America and the Caribbean. As far as poor black countries go, it’s not as bad as most African countries, but life can get pretty difficult regardless. There are large ghettos, the murder rate is high, and entry level computer scientists earn about $10USD/hour.
It’s still possible to get rich here.
If you expand the definition of being rich to “earning more than enough to live comfortably without luxury items”, it’s VERY possible to get rich. I know this because I know quite a few rich people in my country. They don’t buy the Gucci and Louis Vuitton that people in other countries do, but they have big houses and nice cars. They own businesses, and aren’t afraid to go into the ghettos, because they’re always strapped up.
But they had to work their ASSES off to “get to the bag”. There are a few people in their 20s earning good money where I am, but these people are in their 40s and older, generally speaking.
From what I can tell, with the exception of a few people, most guys in my age group (mid 20s) are earning between $400 and $1250/ per month, depending on where in my country they live. This is enough to enjoy some things, but not enough to get the most out of life. This leads to a lot of psychological issues and degeneracy. Gambling addiction is a common affliction in my country. A lot of women are *gold diggers* If you go to cheap bars, there will be strippers and older men there, and they will try to get freaky with you in the hopes of making just $35. A lot of the young guys can’t afford that stuff, and they spend a lot of their time hanging out on corners and smoking weed. On the plus side they still get laid, because a lot of women are suckers for rough, dark skinned men. My country has a middle class, but a lot of people find themselves living hand to mouth well into their 30s as a result of this backwards way of living.
The only way to reach the next level, and enjoy a high quality of life is through discipline.
The fact of the matter is that whether it was by choice or by accident, those of us who live in poor countries will have to work harder to achieve a middle class life than those in rich countries. We don’t have the luxury of really fucking around, and we have to put effort into what we do, because average simply isn’t good enough.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel, if you’re disciplined. Achieving a good lifestyle in a poor country has a few connotations. The first is that you’re hard working. The second is that you’re resourceful. Some people might also give the vibe of coming from a good family or being well educated. Either way, you’re special.
The good thing about being special in a poor country is that you have status and privilege. You can hire maids and nannies for your kids. People are polite and call you sir. You may or may not be able to access the more corrupt elements of society in order to have advantages for yourself and your children. This last part isn’t fair, but it’s true. Pickings are slimmer in poor countries, but there’s a bigger pot at the end of the end of the rainbow if you do the work required. So if you’re in a poor country, I advise against scamming, cybercrime, or any kind of drug dealing activities which can get you extradited from your home and sent to a first world prison. Work hard in order to be the best at something, and if you get involved in anything shady, make sure it’s properly sanctioned. It’s best to work hard for the betterment of your community though. So if you’re in your early to mid 20s living in a poor country, keep shoveling shit. Don’t fall into gambling, degeneracy, or alcoholism like the others around you. It takes a very strong mind, but it’s worth it once you make it.
