One of the best ways to make money online is by starting a recipe blog. Recipe blogs are exactly what they sound like: websites where the main content consists of recipes and ideas for what people can do in the kitchen. A while ago, I was pretty much against recipe blogs. They felt like something that AI could take over, but after a bit of consideration, I think I was wrong about this. Recipe blogs will probably be around forever, and they’re a great way for beginners to make money online.
Recipe blogs are easy
You can always find a new way to cook something. And honestly, you can always look up and make up a new way to cook something. I don’t recommend you do the latter, but if you’re really desperate, recipe blogs are some of the easiest types of websites to create content for. You can always reinvent the wheel and you can always invent something new. All that matters is that you get the necessary traffic.
Recipe blogs are easy to promote
We’re blessed to live in the era of short video. As recently as 7 or 8 years ago, bloggers who wanted to make money with recipes would have needed to depend on Google and Facebook. Google is winner take all and Facebook is pay to play. Running a recipe blog would have taken a lot of time and writing. Nowadays, you just need to entertain people. If you can get one of the short video algorithms to work in your favor, you can get traffic to your recipe blog.
You can create digital products to go with your recipe blog
Digital and physical products are the number one way for you to monetize your blog. Ad revenue simply doesn’t cut it, because you’re being paid whatever your advertisers are willing to pay to promote *their* product. If you have a recipe blog, you’ll be able to create digital and physical products relating to recipes and cooking. This gives you the opportunity to make more money than you could ever imagine. Blogs might not make a lot of money from Ads, but Shopify has a blog, and it’s a multi-billion dollar company. If they find it profitable to run a blog, you probably will too.
Recipe blogs aren’t up my alley. I’m not a great cook, and I have no idea what I’m talking about. If I had to choose a type of product to promote, it would be in fashion, grooming, or software. That being said, I still think it’s a good niche for people who are foodies and have no ideas. If you combine written and video content, you should be making great money from your recipe blog. There just needs to be a real product attached to it. And even then, you can always “push” your way through to a premium ad network like Mediavine or Raptive if all you want to do is create content. If you make sure to grow an email list, and are on all the short video platforms, you should always have a platform that is worth something.
