Positive Relations with the United States are Critical to the Growth of Latin American and Caribbean Economies

A lot of people in Latin America and the Caribbean will say anti American things. It’s not all or most of the time, but I’ve noticed that the assumption about America is that it’s a destructive country whose influence must be fought and curtailed. In some ways, that’s a valid analysis. The US has a habit of engaging in wanton violence and destruction when it could be deemed economically suitable. It’s sad, but we’ve had to deal with it so far. I say that more good comes from continuing to deal with it than fighting the US at every turn. I think countries in Latin America and the Caribbean especially must realize that they’re in a precarious position right now, and that establishing cordial relationships with United States is one of the best ways to generate prosperity.

The USA is the most powerful country in the world

This is because it is the wealthiest large economy on a per capita basis. They are the boss of the world, and there’s absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. The only thing us normal people abroad can do is work hard and contribute to society. Things are improving, ever so slowly. But right now, the USA runs the show. We have to accept that reality and act accordingly.

The US has a monoploy on military might

This is why we have to be cognizant of their existence and their power. The US having a lot of military might means that a lot of us are not in a position to challenge them. At all. We need to understand this reality. It isn’t self-hate or bootlicking, it’s reality. Until the Caribbean and Latin America get stronger, we’re not in a position to combat the United States.

The US has a massive consumer economy

This is a positive aspect of the US. They have a lot of money, and they like to spend. Countries that are properly “tapped in” with the United States are highly likely to outperform those that aren’t. The USA is a great place trade with and it would be stupid for any given country to ignore that fact.

The US has cultural power

Another negative. The fact of the matter is that right now, if the US paints you as a bad guy, you’re the bad guy. It’s hard to get loans, weaponry, supplies, and food. Everything crumbles. And it gets worse if the US uses their military, along with the media to justify it.

Don’t overdo it

Only 5% of the world’s population is American, and the American people are falling behind. Sure, standards of living are rising quite fast in the USA at the high end. But they’re rising even faster is poor countries. The fact of the matter is that you want to engage the United States, but you want to target the emerging markets of Latin America. Latin America is the “sleeper” when it comes to global economic growth. Prices are low, wages are rising, and the people are relatively well educated. A lot of the countries in Latin America are far less indebted than places such as China and Japan. This means that the wealth that has been created is far more stable. People living in Latin America and the Caribbean should look to each other for a customer base, rather than just depending on Americans.

Immigration and assimilation are positive

Immigrating to the countries that are up and coming is a great way to make a living. If you’re part of a growing economy and put in the work, you’re going to be able to get ahead and make and living for yourself. You’re also going to make the local economy more diverse, and lead to improved race relations. It might not seem like it, but race relations around the world are improving. It’s taking a while for some places to adapt, but they are. They don’t really have much of a choice in order to integrate with the global economy.

The US is actually helping the world

Just a little. Donald Trump is making it so that it’s less so. But the United States does actually benefit other countries around the globe. The world has figured out how to evolve beyond depending only on the United States, but their tourism and ecommerce dollars alone benefit everyone. It’s truly incredible how much of a better place the world is as a result of American economic growth.

Multiple countries must stand up to Israel

If you hold an anti American stance due to Israel, don’t. The fact of the matter is that standing up to Israel is going to need to be a multinational effort. The only way for that multinational effort to take place is for more countries to get wealthy, and more people in these newly wealthy countries to post against the Palestinian genocide. This will change the hearts and minds of young Americans more than anything.

The US does its best to be diverse

There are a lot of people of a lot of different nationalities living in the United States. The country is incredibly diverse, and the people live all sorts of different lifestyles from region to region. When it comes to immigration, the United States has taken in a ton of people, especially from Latin America. This is a positive development, as it means people

The backslide is due to increased immigration

This is the simple truth of the matter. The reason the US has gotten more racist in recent years is because the country is filled with the children of recent immigrants. If you’re black, go to the Caribbean or to Botswana. Build and grow there. I think you would be surprised by what you can find outside of the United States if you look hard enough. Let native-born people emigrate to wherever suits them. Just make sure to work hard and learn an actual skill.

The US is a country that should be dealt with in an appropriate manner. Friendly, but cautiously. Things are getting more volatile there as the people become increasingly disgruntled with their government. They will eventually improve, but it’s going to take time. Right now, people don’t have the money required to function in a lot of these places, and it’s creating problems. That’s because the global economy is shifting under them. There’s nothing you can do about this. Our countries are improving, theirs is in decline. We should play nice with them and take advantage without ruining the relationship.

Thanks for paying attention.
