You’re Crazy Until It All Makes Sense

If you know what you’re talking about, and people are always confused, and you understand others to a certain degree, don’t worry too much. Generally speaking, if you’re onto something interesting or different, you’re probably going to be seen as crazy. People will give you strange looks and advice, and they might even show aggression towards you. This is normal, if you’re not normal. There are a few reasons why, and if you work hard and are humble, you still might be on the right track. Here’s why.

People aren’t used to the abnormal

This applies to everyone in every way. I don’t have a college degree. I also don’t have student debt. I live in a 3rd world country, but if trends continue, I’ll be worth $45,000 by age 26. This is more than the average American my age, and definitely about 4 times (minimum) what happens. I still find that people disrespect my lack of a degree and what I do, even though the system is simple, it’s working, and my online portfolio is growing. The truth is, that if you write online, you can significantly outperform people from my home country and create a more valuable business than many people who have degrees. Some people think I’m crazy, but it doesn’t matter. Soon, I’ll have outperformed many people who I know, both in my home country and where I live overseas. It’s already coming together, and I won’t look so crazy when my project is “complete”.

Complex thought patterns aren’t often clear

When you make certain connections that others aren’t making, it’s hard to make sense. This can a good thing if you’re clear headed, and a bad thing if you’re paranoid. If you’re in a stable mood and making sure that you’re rigorously testing your theories and ideas, you should be able to make connections that are actually true. You need to either have a good job, or always be thinking if you’re like this. I’m only just starting to get it together as a solopreneur who thinks like this, although I do have the disadvantage of being from a poor country. If you’re trying to build a castle that’s actually stable, it can be quite tricky to put it all together. But if you work hard enough and have the humility to challenge your own ideas, it should all make sense within no time.

Most of the real, life-changing stuff is crazy

If I met you on the street and told you: “If you want to make your first dollar online, just self-publish a quick sex scene on Amazon and sell it for $2.99”?

You would look at me like I had lost my mind. And yet, here I am, comfortably making my way in a “poor” country. I’ve learned a lot about making money online, and it’s mainly because I embarked on a series of crazy ventures. I started a blog. I began walking barefoot. I learned about the vague but very active realm of content marketing. But now my life has changed. I have an audience, and my own domain name and hosting. I have enough content to earn me passive income for a while, although a setback in the realm of web hosting and website migration has been a bit discouraging. I’ll be fine in the long run. Just gonna have to push harder this year as a result of my setback.

Barefoot walking was another crazy thing to try. It’s been less than four years of doing this and my life has already improved dramatically. I used to have back pain all the time. Now, I feel a lot better.

There’s a lot of success to be found in the unconventional. You just have to make sure that what you’re doing makes sense, that you stay humble, and that you don’t gain a sense of entitlement as to how much money you should be earning or how many accolades you should get as a result of your efforts. It takes a lot of work to succeed, and people often find themselves grinding for years in order to create big wins for themselves. I know I’ve been glued to my computer for as long as I can remember. Such is life. Regardless, you can win big by being weird, as long as you keep your focus on the correct areas of life.
