A lot of people are looking to look good. This is a weird way of saying it, but I think it’s pretty clear what I mean. As the world gets more developed and medicine becomes more high-tech, people are looking for unnatural ways to look better than they do naturally. The results of this have been pretty wild. In countries like South Korea, up to one-third of women have gotten plastic surgery. There are a lot of reasons people might want to make such drastic enhancements. Looking good affects your prospects at work, in friendships, and dating. Beauty enhancements were traditionally associated with women because in the past they couldn’t own the property or access the financial instruments that men could. Looking good was thought to aid in social climbing. Things have changed a lot. The dating landscape is pretty rough for a lot of young men, due to a near-global cost of living crisis coupled with a terrible labor market. A lot of people have given up, but those who are still trying are taking pretty drastic measures.
This image is from the Guardian, the guy in this image did all of this without surgery. I think that’s pretty cool because he looks significantly better than he did before. I wouldn’t think this was cool if he had risked his health to look this good. Some people are risking their health.
Limb-lengthening surgery is a grueling procedure, designed to make men taller. It’s a dangerous procedure, with lots of potential for complications and permanent damage. The procedure can add up to three inches in height, which makes a decent difference in terms of how you look.
A lot of guys would kill for three extra inches. But it just isn’t smart, or logical. Multiple studies show that height isn’t the end-all-be-all when it comes to attracting women. As a matter of fact, muscle mass seems to matter more. So basically you’re risking your health to get gains that you could easily achieve by just going to the gym if you decide to undergo limb-lengthening surgery. This just isn’t smart. You should do the safe thing first, then take the risk if you aren’t getting results.
In my experience, you can still find someone if you’re really short and jacked. Most women want a guy who’s taller than them and prefer a guy who’s 6 feet. You might prefer blondes and find a random brunette stunning.
Looksmaxxing is pretty closely associated with the incel movement. From what I’ve seen of incels online, they are self-pitying and far too easily discouraged. I’m not sure if this is due to insecurity or bad experiences, but I think it’s self-perpetuating. Limb-lengthening surgeries becoming popular and making it to popular Twitter pages and YouTube channels is a sure sign to me that people are going too far down the rabbit hole. It would be nice if there was something which could make you taller, but there’s a cost to everything. Limb-lengthening surgery is not the most effective way to change your looks, and the data proves that.
