We’ve all been there. The familiar conversation, gentle but firm, about how things were done “in my day.” It might be about marriage, money, child-rearing, or simply the proper way to store leftovers. We listen, nodding patiently, armed with modern data, shifting social norms, and a world of new possibilities at our fingertips. We sense, sometimes, a flicker of doubt in their eyes—a quiet acknowledgment that the world has changed, that maybe their way isn’t the only way, or even the easiest. And yet, they hold fast.
