How Nationalism Can Pay Off

If you want to be nationalistic, you might often find yourself in a world of hurt. The world is a cruel place, and it doesn’t favor those who are easily manipulated. That being said, nationalism is one of those things which can benefit free thinkers, while also destroying those who are less intelligent. Nations are like massive conglomerates. They sell both their culture and their functionality. Choosing the right nation and being loyal and productive can cause you to make leaps and bounds in life.

Being nationalistic in a poor country forces you to be honest with yourself

If you can’t be honest with yourself about the state of your country, you’re going to make mistakes and you’re going to fail. Nationalism makes you confront all the problems in your country and see how you can deal with them. If you’re nationalistic in a poor country, you’re going to quickly be confronted with the reality of the consequences of your loyalty. You won’t be able to lie to yourself at all. This will change every aspect about how you go through life.

Being nationalistic will render you more politically active

If you care about your country, you’re going to be more politically active. This is because as long as you’re in the bottom 90-99% of citizens in your country, being politically active matters. Your life is highly likely to improve if your political goals are successful, provided you are intelligent. If you’re one of the “little guys”, you’re going to be affected by geopolitical shifts.

Being nationalistic will give you a better understanding of the economy

The more involved you are in what goes on in your country, the better of an understanding of its economy you’ll get. You’ll know who makes money and how, and you’ll also have an understanding of what the best professions are. If you’re nationalistic, you should be infinitely familiar with the inner workings of your economy. This is especially true if you’re young. Use your patriotism to improve your financial life.

Nationalism during hard times is a war of attrition

Sometimes, there are 5- or 10-year patches where life in a country is hard, no two ways about it. During this time, a lot of people will quit, and you can get a lot of gains by staying in the right place. Being the beneficiary of turmoil can be pretty cool. You just have to work really hard and remain steadfast.

It’s easier to hop social classes at home

This should be obvious. If you’re in your home country, you have the advantage. The right people will be willing to work with you, and you’re going to jump social classes if you are committed and nationalistic. It can feel cringe, but being nationalistic is great for forging the relationships that you need in order to succeed in business. Combined with the same-race preferences many of us have, you should be unstoppable in your home country.

Nationalism is a vote in favor of a culture, and you can choose

The reality of the situation is that the nationalism you embrace is your way of voting. When you live and work in a country, you help build the place up, even if it doesn’t necessarily feel that way. Every single thing you do has an effect and impact on your life, and the lives of those around you. When you are nationalistic, you vote in favor of a certain way of being and are subconsciously pushing to render it a more popular way of life.

Avoid taking physical risks

This means that you want to exit high crime areas as soon as possible. The thing about physical risks is that they are not worth taking, at all. You want to be in an area where the economy is undergoing upheaval, but crime is low. This is why a lot of people love moving to Asia, they see it as an opportunity to take advantage of growth without taking on the physical risks that come with living in Latin America and the Caribbean. Generally speaking, it’s a balance. The Caribbean region has definitely become more developed, especially for those in the top 10% of asset holders and above. But the average person is still suffering and struggling. The Caribbean is great, but you need to be prepared for the fact that

Real money is all in one place

The digital nomad dream was a pipe dream. The internet is mature as a technology, but it’s not quite large enough to support a mass of creators. My prediction? That over the next decade, content creation will get even easier to profit from, if you know what you’re doing. But as of right now, the top income earners are those who earn all their money by living in a single location and taking part in their local economies. My hunch is that you’ll need to wait another two years before it gets really easy to make money online. A few more people need to quit, and few more people need to start buying stuff. Start a business that’s appropriate for your country’s time. If you’re interested in online business and blogging, don’t move to a super poor country like Kenya or Cambodia, you’re just making your life hard.

Even if your country’s too poor, you can still make it online

It’s just going to be tricky. If you’re in a country where the people are too poor, you’re going to find that you’re fighting really hard for a really long time. You’re going to need to make it to the top in order to live a pretty decent life. Just grind. You can almost always figure out a workaround to your issue, provided your country isn’t absolutely dirt poor. But if your country is too poor for you to make it online, you probably aren’t reading this.

Cultures that value integration will do better

Think about it rationally. People aren’t simply leaving places like the Philippines because life is hard. They’re leaving because there aren’t as many freedoms as possible. When the average person can’t do what they want, they tend to become fairly disinterested by a lot of aspects of life. This means that in the short run, people work to improve their lives, but they will jump ship whenever they can. If you’re in a country which values integration and fiscal stability, you’re winning. Stay where you are and work hard. Life will improve the most in these places as people are afforded increasing choice.

Nationalism pays off in select scenarios. You don’t want to end up being easily manipulated, but being nationalistic can definitely make a difference in how you perceive life, and how much success you end up having. Being nationalistic unexpectedly allowed me to make some of the most important discoveries of my life. I was able to figure out how to start a business online and realize that work isn’t the only thing I value. I have options that I wouldn’t otherwise have due to being more nationalistic than most. If you’re nationalistic, be smart about it. Don’t fall on someone else’s sword. Be a part of a good system and show it loyalty. You’ll be rewarded. Just don’t become a blind crusader.

Thanks for paying attention.
