If you’re looking to make money online, you’re probably staring down the barrel of a crapload of content creation. You’re probably young. You probably don’t have a lot of money. You probably don’t know ecommerce. Content creation is one of the best and easiest ways to make money online without a lot of capital, as most easy-to-get remote jobs don’t pay a living western wage. On the flipside, content creation is risky. You never know when you’re going to go viral, and you never know when you’re going to have a flop moment. Content creators get around this in two ways. First, they treat each of their content platforms as independent hustles. Multiple streams of income mean that if one project crashes, the other one can still pay your bills. I personally will be studying and getting a job as I let this blog grow. A full-time income would be a nice addition to a burgeoning online presence. The second way content creators deal with the instability of their profession is by creating a lot of content. You can see it for yourself: most successful bloggers and YouTubers have created hundreds of pieces of content, and as a result have spent hours honing their craft.
Focus on one type of content at a time
This is why being an influencer takes a long time. You need to become a master at your craft in order to have a fighting chance. Especially if you want to be an influencer while living in a first world country. I’m using the term influencer broadly. Anyone creating content while looking to earn money is an influencer for the purposes of this article. The best way to become an influencer is to create viral content that gets a lot of views. To do this reliably, you need to become a master with a known reputation. Focus on one type of content piece and outwork everyone. You’re likely to become a master with a known reputation. Diversifying will be necessary as your business grows, but focusing on one type of content can allow to get great at something faster. I think it’s best to bit the bullet, as I have by blogging for a year straight rather than immediately attempting to make a foray into YouTube or Livestreaming.
Have a set amount of content that you need to create
This is really tricky when you’re just getting started. It’s still tricky once you’re established, because AI tools are all over the place. It’s hard to know whether or not content will rise in value, because it’s hard to tell what will produced in the future. All that being said, it’s still possible to win big in the field of content creation. So come up with a certain amount of content that you would like to produce and get it done. You can regroup and come up with a monetization strategy once you’re solidly ahead of the game. Me personally, I wanted to write 225 articles in my first year of blogging. I’ve surpassed that in the space of 9 months. My goal for the next four months is to write another 15 articles in order to rest and recuperate, and see how my blog is doing after that. I’ll be getting my degree and running a YouTube channel regardless of how the site is doing.
Come up with a formula for creating new content
If you have a formula for creating content, you’ll be able to create content very quickly, and avoid repeating yourself with ease. All you do is divide your content into pieces, whether they’re videos, documentaries, or articles. If you have a formula, you get up every day and do a certain number of pieces of content. The more content you create the better you will do relative to others, and the more you’ll perfect your formula. Having a formula for your content creates routine and stability where there isn’t any. Remember that content creation is a remote, self-directed job. You want to make it as simple as possible.
Livestream
If you want to make quick content that actually can be repeated. The best thing to do is to live stream. Livestreaming is very difficult. There are a lot of people tuning in, tipping, and subscribing, but the barrier for entry is low and the level of competition is high. On the flipside, livestreams can be turned into YouTube videos, along with short videos. This means that you can get paid twice or more for every livestream that you put out, and quickly flood the internet with livestreams. I won’t be livestreaming. I’ll be doing a degree as my blog grows. But it works well for content creators who want to put out a lot of stuff without being repetitive. Another good thing about livestreams is that they’re done live. That means that if you’re an interesting person with something to offer, the content is inherently nonrepetitive.
Consume a lot of content, at least at the beginning
The more content you consume, the better an idea you’ll have of what it takes to create good content. You’ll also be more up to date with and in touch with current trends. The more content you consume, the more you’ll understand what you’re doing. The more you understand what you’re doing, the more coming up with new content will be second nature. You’ll have a better idea of what you’re aiming to create.
The way to create content online and succeed is to make lots of good stuff, really fast. You need to get so used to content creation that you’re amazing at it. You need to be skilled and engaging, all while being consistent, because it’s a winner take all game. Thankfully, most people simply won’t create enough content to get noticed and to get better than most. A year of focus will put you ahead of the game, five years should make you successful. Just diversify and work hard. You’re going to make it, especially if content creation isn’t your only source of income.
Thanks for paying attention.
