How To Finish College Faster — UOP and Sophia.org

Getting a bachelor’s degree has a serious impact on your career. If you’re able to earn your diploma, you’ll have more access to employment and future educational opportunities. A lot of people nowadays have either given up on degrees or resigned themselves to the fact that college costs a lot of money and will lead to them being in debt. You don’t have to allow this to be your situation. Earning your bachelor’s degree can be done quickly and cheaply. I’m currently in the process of doing it right now. I estimate I’ll be done with my degree in as little as two and a half years. Here’s how I’m making it happen.

UOP

Introducing the University of the People, also known as the school that I’m attending. UOP is a great school, and the program is truly remarkable. The way it works is you take 1–4 classes online. The courses are self-study, but there are deadlines for when your assignments are due. Some courses are proctored, and you get feedback on all the homework assignments. You can contact your professors in private messages if you have questions. If you take 1 class per term, you will spend 8 years at University of the People. If you take 4 classes, you will spend 2. The shortest possible time to complete a Bachelor’s degree at UOP is two and a half years. The university also offers Associate’s degrees that can be completed in a year and a half and Master’s Degrees which can be completed in under a year.

The school is fairly new, having only been founded in 2009. The first large cohort of graduates will be finishing their studies this year, as it took a while for the school to become known. This means that unfortunately, we don’t have a history of UOP graduates getting placed at good jobs. I wouldn’t worry about this too much though. People get work with all types of degrees, and UOP is accredited in the United States of America. As long as you do your coursework honestly, I believe you’ll be well-qualified for your postgraduate role.

The main selling point of UOP is the tuition. Each course at UOP will only cost you $140 per month! Given that there are 40 courses in a UOP Bachelor’s degree, the total cost of the degree is only about $5,600! The average Bachelor’s degree in the United States costs $38,000 per year! You’re paying less than 1/28th the cost, and you can do the work in your PJs.

Sophia

The University of the People is great. The courses are engaging, the professors are pretty responsive, and it’s dirt cheap. But you still need to classes on their schedule. Sophia.org allows your studies to be sped up even more by offering a selection of classes that you can study totally on your schedule. There are no proctors, and you can finish the course you signed up for within the same day if you want to. The best part? Sophia only costs $100 per month, which means you can do your courses even more cheaply than at UOP. In combination with the former, you might be able to do your Bachelor’s degree within two years.

This is the future of higher education

When I first found out about UOP, I was reticent about getting the degree. It is, after all, “only” a nationally accredited university. Most schools are regionally accredited and nationally accredited. The idea of getting a degree that I couldn’t use seemed more painful to me than not having a diploma. After a lot of thinking, I realized two things. The first is that the UOP diploma is so cheap. A four-figure or cheaper US college degree isn’t easy to come up. The second thing I realized is that UOP is a new school. As time passes, more people will graduate from the self-study program, and the school will increasingly gain recognition. Other universities around the world will likely be forced to follow suit, as pressure is put on national governments to make education accessible. UOP will also have graduates who go on to achieve great things. These people will get good jobs and earn money and donate it to the school. UOP will only improve and get better, and its reputation will only get stronger. In my opinion, taking advantage of this program along with Sophia is like getting in early on bitcoin. Do it.

How to finish college faster without UOP

You can finish your degree faster than normal even if you’re not attending UOP. If you’re already in college, you can take summer classes, and see if your institution accepts credits from Sophia. If you haven’t applied to college yet, look for early college high schools. An example of such a high school would be Bard High School in New York City. If you can complete an early college program, you will graduate with an associate’s degree, and find yourself two years ahead of your peers. Other accelerated programs include 3+1, 3+2, and 4+1 Bachelor’s/Master’s degrees. These programs allow you to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree all at once in a shortened time frame (4 years instead of 5 or 5 years instead of 6). Programs like these tend to be found at state schools and elite universities and are a great way to get a graduate-level education in business or engineering at the same time it takes your peers to just get a bachelor’s.

Getting a college degree in a short time frame takes discipline and a bit of strategy, but it’s doable if you work steadily and don’t take any breaks. Nowadays, you can use the internet to speed up your educational process and make your work more comfortable.
