If you want to start a business, you need to learn how to become deaf selectively. The same applies to moving countries, but this article is about starting a business. If you want to start a business in today’s era, you want to learn how to make mockery roll off of your back. Because people will mock you, especially those who don’t understand. If you’re young and don’t have self-belief, this can make you quit. In today’s world, quitting at entrepreneurship is one of the worst decisions you can make. This will probably end up becoming an underrated article, but ignoring conventional wisdom, along with the words of your friends and family (when it comes to entrepreneurship)

Your family/friends haven’t done what you’re trying to do

This can be for a variety of reasons ranging from inability, improper timing, or ineptitude. Unless you’re in the family business or a niche industry, most mockery is not going to be rooted in logic. At best, people haven’t done their research on what you’re doing. At worst, people are jealous.

Your closest family wants you to be safe

Safety and comfort stop you from progressing in many ways. But that’s what your closest family members want for you. In their minds, the best thing you can do is go to school and get a profession. Doing that is definitely less painful on the frontend in today’s era. If you get into business young, prepare to spend a few years spinning your wheels. This may be worthwhile over the entirety of your life if you take your youthful business idea seriously but won’t feel safe to your family.

Lots of people think it’s harder to start a business than it is

If you’re a rich kid with no degree and no personal savings, you can leverage your free housing, healthcare, and food into an upper-middle class living in 5 or 6 years. Another 4 years of extreme grind could take you well into the top 1% of earners and asset holders. It’s really about putting in the work, and you understand that more the more you create.

Develop a thick skin

If you’re an Entrepeneur, you want to have thick skin so that you can take criticism and live a good life. If you’re unable to take criticism as an Entrepreneur, your life is likely to be really dificult. Not only will you alienate other winners, but you’ll do worse. You need a thick skin, regardless of how many normal people you shut out.

Learn to focus on yourself

You want to become semi-narcissistic for a bit. This is where you’ll experience a lot of painful growth. You’ll learn about yourself and make leaps and bounds in your professional life. Being focused on yourself also makes you a bit more of a jackass. This can be an effective repellant when people are trying to mess with your psyche and create drama. Just don’t turn into a true narcissist. Focus your energy inward, don’t idolize yourself or fall into insecurity.

Learn what lifestyle you’re looking for

This is the key to becoming a happy entrepreneur. If you don’t know what kind of lifestyle you want, you’re pretty much doomed to be miserable. If you know what kind of lifestyle you’re aiming to live, people’s mockery just won’t make any sense to you. You’ll be too busy achieving your goals.

Cut out fiction content

The worst you should be getting into is reality TV. Fictional content is a complete waste of time and cut it out eliminates a lot of points of interaction with normal people. If you consume educational content and attend school or a job, your circle is going to be filled with winners. They won’t make fun of you as you grow your business. They’ll help you succeed if it’s meant to be.

Learn about money in your country

If you are able to learn about money and how it works in your country, your only doubts will be based on malthusian factors and the government. Along with you product and marketing. Other people’s words won’t matter.

Actually put in the work

Less talking, more action. Put in the work so that you can get skills and make the money you want. You don’t hear as well when you’re working!

If you’re putting the work in as an entrepreneur, other people’s words are oftentimes the most problematic thing that you’re going to deal with. This is because other people’s words have the power to sow doubt. This is deadly if you are trying hunt for your own stuff. So, if you want to start your own business, become immune to mockery.
