If you’re an older man reading this, or a young guy, you might have been sold a bill of goods about dating as you age. A lot of people think women will into their lap as they get older and wealthier. But let me tell you, this is only true if you keep earning. If you don’t, life is hard as you age. The truth is that most older men won’t be able to attract younger women. It’s simply not a possibility for them. If you’re hoping to be a 60 year old bachelor with a hot 20 year old on your arm, you should probably think again. It’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to pull it off. Here’s why, and what you should do about it.
Men have a biological clock
You look less attractive as you age. This is a basic fact of life. This is why you should work your butt off in your 20s. If you don’t, you’re going to be declining with regards to looks as you work. If you’re older than 30 and not taking care of yourself, you’re in trouble. You do have a biological clock as a man. After about 25 it gets a lot harder if you don’t have the money.
In the past, money mattered more
Money still matters across the globe. But if you’re reading this article, the people you want to date probably don’t desperately need money. If they’re halfway responsible, they get by on their own. The only way this doesn’t happen is if you’re in a poor country. And even then, a lot of women have their stuff together. Money doesn’t matter as much in dating, unless you’re in some country where women don’t have as many rights.
The marketplace is more competitive, meaning it’s about twice as hard for men to be “economically” attractive to women
This means that you can’t exactly slack off and be a member of society that makes enough money to easily attract women as he ages. It just isn’t possible. If you’re going to be economically attractive as you get older and get the chance to marry the right kind of woman, you’re going to need to be able to compete with both men and women. To be a top 10% earner, you need to be better than 90% of people, not 90% of men. So, you need to be twice as good as your ancestors.
Feminism means more women have self-respect
A lot of women could have worked in the past, but they didn’t because they wanted to have comfortable lives, and didn’t want to go against the grain. Nowadays, women want to prove their worth and intelligence. They have too much self-respect to date some older guy just to collect a middle-class paycheck. Women want men who they love, or men who are status symbols. They don’t want to feel as though they are objects for some lame guy who has simply “worked hard for his woman”. You’re not entitled to a woman just because you’re an older man nowadays.
Pedophilia hysteria will get in the way of you dating very young women
Women who are between 18 and 20 are going to be better protected nowadays. This is probably for the better. A lot of older men just want to control younger women, and it isn’t right. Pedophilia hysteria has helped make it so that if you want to date a mentally healthy woman who’s very young, you need to be a great guy, if it’s possible at all. I think this is a good thing, generally speaking. Even though people who try and catch predators should probably be less aggressive and clandestine in their activities.
On the positive front, men can still be physically attractive well into their old age
I think this truer for men than it is for women, provided we do the work. Most guys don’t do the work. If you do the work, you can probably count on being able to create and maintain a good physique. This means that you can stay on the hookup scene far longer than women can, and still date young, hot women.
If you’re a man who succeeds, you are rarer and can have a bigger age gap, even today
Sure, if you are just pulling with your money, you’re going to struggle a decent bit to attract younger women. But if you’re handsome and in shape, you can date younger women still. It’s just that the threshold is higher, because well balanced people don’t spend all their lives hooking up, and being a well-balanced man is what matters in the dating world. Realistic age gaps are possible. You’re just going to need to fish, and possibly be a passport bro.
Focus on looks over money
If a lot of people are going to be able to create a good living for themselves, you can content yourself with the fact that your looks are going to matter more and more as people across the globe become wealthier. Spend time getting rich, sure. Create a good nest egg for yourself. But don’t let yourself get fat and ugly just because you want to spend money.
Learn to be frugal
If you can learn to build a financially stable lifestyle for yourself, you can win. If you’re frugal, you’re going to attract other frugal people, and you’re going to be able to create peace of mind for yourself. Being frugal will also keep the wrong types of women away from you, and transform you into ideal husband material.
Focus on a woman’s profession
Look for professions with low divorce rates. Date people who work in those. If you can do that, you’re much more likely to find an attractive and smart partner than if you focus on looks, or worse “personality”. People change and lifestyles are depenedent on people’s professions. Look up “divorce rate by job” and focus on the women who work in the female dominanted, low divorce rate positions.
Passport bro
Don’t be afraid to move and date. It’s worthwhile if you find the right place. Women in certain places tend to be caught up in certain lifestyles. Avoiding these cooked women will save you a lot of headache and heartache. Don’t be afraid to be a passport bro if you don’t like the dating scene where you live.
Be smart about settling down
If you’re in your late 20s to early 30s, you should probably settle down. Doing otherwise probably isn’t a great decision. In the long term, you’re going to be a lot happier if you create a family and a life for yourself, than if you play the field forever. Work hard in your 20s and 30s but settle down Asap. You have a lot less time than you think.
If you’re a guy, you should probably try to have kids fairly young. Not too young, but you shouldn’t be looking to delay having children until 45. I would say that the ideal time for a guy to have kids is between the ages of 30 and 40. Any situation that has you dating women more than 15 years younger is probably an overall loss. It can work, but it probably won’t for Gen Z and younger millennials. So, don’t blindly count on having that opportunity. Live your life now and meet women. Having a bit of money is good, but you should be able to create something for yourself once you’re upper middle class. If you have game, that is. Don’t waste your life collecting tokens.
