The idea of making money online is weird. People thought about it a lot during the pandemic. It’s always running in the background as a potential opportunity. But everything looks scammy and if you’re young it can feel like nothing works. In a way, you would be right to come to these conclusions. There are a lot of scams, and making money online can be very glitchy and difficult. But most people seem to be under the illusion that it’s getting harder and harder. It’s not. It’s actually getting easier and easier, globally speaking.

Myth: More people joining the internet means making money online will be less worthwhile

In reality, it’s quite the opposite. On a global scale, the more people get online, the easier it is to make money online. This is because more people hopping online means global GDP per capita is increasing. This means there’s more money to go around. More people online means more eyeballs. Globally speaking, it’s never been easier to build a full-time living on the web. There are lots of examples to follow. That being said, it can take a whwhile depending on what you get involved in. Some pursuits are more lucrative than others. But generally speaking, it’s easier than ever to make some money with content creation, whether it be blogging, social media, livestreaming, or video. The reason it might appear more competitive is because you’re in a wealthier country, and the whole world has moved online.

More people online + higher prices = more money per view

This is regardless of whether you’re making money off ads or affiliate marketing or your own product. If more people are used to being online, conversion rates are going increase. If they’re used to paying more, e commerce entrepreneurs make more money. This trickles down to every aspect of the internet. This means that creating content can be a way to hedge against inflation.

Wealthier countries with higher paying jobs are going to continue to suffer

If you thought that Western countries were suffering as a result of outsourced labour, then wait till you see what happens when manufacturing takes off in Africa. A lot of products are going to get a lot cheaper. A lot of monopolies are going to be due for collapse. China is also going into cars. This is probably a disaster for the US, Germany, and Japan. The world is going to continue to become a lot more even, generally speaking.

Realize that online income will make you location independent

This means you’ll be able to chose exactly where you live and work. This will allow you to lower your costs. In today’s world of growing population and ever-expanding need and greed, lowering your costs is one of the best ways to guarantee your financial future. Being location independent will allow you to lower your costs while continuing to live the best life possible. The wealthier the country you live in, the faster you should be able to become location independent, whether it be through saving money, working in tech, or getting into the entertainment industry, use your advantages wisely. But once you have a bit of something, moving is your friend. Pick a cheap place and keep working hard.

Build a brand, don’t go for churn

If you’re going to churn, figure out a plan for reinvestment or another way of monetizing your skills. There’s no long term value in scamming people. Criminals, scammers, and deceitful people are good for the economy because they force systems to change, but you don’t want to be caught up in that change when it happens. Build one or more brands.

Don’t give up

Giving up to soon is the worse mistake. The world is changing fast. Stay on top of things and do your research. You will likely be surprised by what’s out there, and by home much the world changes in the space of even two to three years. One thing is clear: if you keep on this digital path and are open to adapting, you’re going to live a decent life. Also, the world generally becomes wealthier, rather than the other way around. You’re bound to get ahead if you can remain healthy and work hard.

A lot of people, particularly in the United States, are giving up on content creation, all while making loud proclamations about how it’s not worthwhile and how a 9–5 saves lives. They aren’t 100% wrong. The increased competition online has cut into everyone’s paychecks. But it’s easier to make money online as a whole. So don’t let the increasing competition discourage or fool you. Making money online is easier and more possible than ever.

Thanks for paying attention.
