When leaving your home country, it’s important to make your choice wisely. I’ve said it in other articles, and I am sure that where you live will affect your life more than the job you do. That is because the system of government in your country, along with your social status, will determine the most about your life. If you’re stuck in a country that doesn’t care about human development, there is a limit to what you can do. There won’t be any jobs around, and you’d need to be given supplies to earn a living online somehow. This is why many end up being subsistence farmers in the 3rd world. It’s just not very easy to move up and get ahead on this planet.
- Realize That You’re Not Actually Looking for A Country, But A City
Unfortunately, most countries are too big and different from municipality to municipality for you to generalize. What I’ve seen many rich people doing, is choosing two or three cities which they enjoy spending time in and travelling between them. These cities usually aren’t in the same country, they tend to just have characteristics that people like. Finding where to live is about finding your niche, and then seeing if the host country’s immigration system will accommodate you. - Find Where You Can Make Money
The world is a cruel, unforgiving place. If you can’t figure out how to make a few dollars, you’re going to struggle to get your hands on anything worthwhile. You won’t be able to live in good housing, you won’t access proper healthcare, and getting your kids a good education is going to be more challenging. You need to live in a country where you can make the money required to live. Take it from someone who chose wrong (in a way), it’s an uphill battle when you do. - Find Where You Can Get Proper Healthcare
When we’re young, health issues are rare. We’re able to exercise and experiment with drugs all the time, and there are rarely any problems. We go along blindly, feeling like we’re on top of the world. But at some point, calamity strikes. Until further notice, everybody gets sick, and everybody dies. Go somewhere with good healthcare. In many countries, healthcare is overpriced and dangerous. You’re just a cog in the machine and your life expectancy gets lower. I know it sounds lame but find proper healthcare. - Find A Place with the Aesthetics You Enjoy
If you don’t like the layout, look, and feel of your city, you’re going to be miserable. Get a rough blueprint for what your city should look like and try to find places that match it. Visit for a month at a time, and you’ll know if you like what you see. Things are always better when you find your environment beautiful. - Go Where the Women/Men You Like Will Like You Back
Social life and community are what make life worth living. Due to the unfortunate loss of “third places” in many cities and countries, dating is the best predictor of your social life. Go to a place where you find it relatively easy to attract women. You’ll meet more people, have better experiences, and be happier with your life overall. - Take Family into Account
Like I said in the last paragraph, social life is everything. If you’re reading this article, maybe your family isn’t able to or large enough to provide you with a full sense of community. But you shouldn’t forget them. Try to organize your life so that you can interact with your family members and do your best to keep in touch with them. You’ll be glad you did this when you reach old age.
There you go. If you can do these 6 things, you should be able to find where you want to live with ease. Simply work hard, take these things into account, and you should be able to enjoy your life in your new home.
