Why AI Won’t Kill Coding Blogs (And What People Running Coding Blogs Should Do)

Everyone has AI anxiety. As a matter of fact, a lot of people believe that AI is going to kill us all. Being killed by AI is a terrifying thought, but for now, it still seems to be a bit far-fetched. That could change quickly, but we have to deal with what is rather than what the future might hold. All we can really do is speculate, and remain aware. I’m a writer, so I can talk about how AI is affecting blogging. I noticed that coding blogs were under particular threat from AI. Here’s why I don’t think the new technology will ruin the niche.

Ai knows the basic stuff

It’s been repeated all over the place. If you’re writing basic “how to code tic tac toe” guides, you’re going to suffer. AI can tell people how to do that. Lots of coding blogs are going to lose traffic and die as a result of ChatGPT, if they haven’t already.

Social media is still a communication tool

People want to hear from each other. This generally holds true. Maybe they won’t all be in the United States, but if people can hear from each other, they’re going to be able to compare notes, and talk. There will always be money attached to the eyeballs associated with that. The economics and risk associated with it might be different nowadays, but there’s still money to be made. You just need to be determined and learn what you’re doing. Make real connections and talk to people. That way you can get paid for your expertise.

The number of coders will reduce

AI is going to thin the herd. If you’re in the United States and unqualified, you’re probably going to be cut. There’s no reason to be upset about this, as far as I’m concerned. You just need to be better. The number of coders will go down. People will find other stuff to do, or they will give up on life. It’s pretty much as simple as that. The number of codes will go down as a matter of necessity.

Social media and interpersonal connections will matter more

The days of simply running a blog and making huge money are pretty much over. You definitely can’t count on Google to save you if all you do is post to WordPress. You need 3rd party validation in today’s world. Talk to other people and connect with them. Don’t just shut yourself in and build blindly.

Expert opinions and cutting-edge research are what will matter more

You need to be where the work is actually being done. This will mean being more skilled, being active, and communicating with others working in your field. You can’t be an entry level worker and expect to get anywhere.

If you run a coding blog, realize that the ante has upped. The good news is that you won’t need to worry once you’re established and getting traffic. Make sure that you do a lot of the right stuff, and focus more on being a great software engineer. Your product is going to have to be coding knowledge or affiliate products. Not the written word.

Thanks for paying attention.
