Nowadays, everyone is telling people not to get into religion. Men, women, and children across the world are turning their backs on tradition. People are denigrating their parents, governments, and home countries in favor of a new world, one in which ideas and people of all kinds are accepted. It’s striking how drastic the change has been, and how quickly it has come about. Even more jarring is how widespread the shift is. There are few places in the world in which fertility rates are increasing, and a lot of it is because people have quite simply turned their backs on the Lord.
When you follow Christ, you end up having children, provided you’re otherwise healthy and fortunate. It won’t necessarily be a lot of children, but family is a key component of religious life. Being religious is hard, it takes discipline. I’m writing about faith, but I’m doing it as imperfect Christian. I’m in the process of converting and am introducing God into my life more and more each day. It’s a hard process. Less than a year ago, I was drinking every single day. My life has improved, but I’m still mired in sin. I’ll get out of it though, and that’s because I have faith in God.
The reality of life is that we don’t know who created the universe and the world around us. We’re here, and we live without knowing why. Elon Musk thinks we’re living in a simulation and is actually able to create a scientific argument for that theory. I think that simulation theory works well with faith in God. If you believe that we’re in an enclosed space, being controlled by an outside force, religion is our best shot at connecting with that outside force. If we’re really being run by a computer, prayer should work even better, as the person operating the computer will be able to see what you’re doing. No matter how you slice it, believing in God is the safest option if you want to keep on the creator’s good side.
Believing in God also helps you in your personal life. With regards to myself, it caused me to begin to think morally, and to look into improving myself. Once I accepted Jesus and God into my life, I began thinking more clearly about the things I do and why I do them. I decided against selling advice on how to gamble on sports. I do it based on statistics, but I know it can be addictive for many. I don’t want to get people hooked on gambling. It’s not in keeping with Christ as far as I’m concerned. Sports betting for profit is chasing money for its own sake. According to the Bible, the love of money isn’t a good thing. As such I don’t want people learning to gamble from me, whether they’re responsible or irresponsible. I’ll show a few friends the basics of what I do, but you won’t find me earning my living this way.
Outside of your morality, God does bring blessings into your life. Since I’ve accepted Christ, things feel more dynamic. I feel more able to socialize, and I feel freer. Life feels like it has a purpose, and I can envision a happy future for myself. I think religion is a solid way to go through life, and it will likely be one of my criteria for choosing a spouse. I want my future wife to know a lot about the world of spirituality, because I think it’s a core component of how we interact with the world.
The church is also a place where you can socialize. Socialization is an important part of the human experience, and the modern world is not exactly full of ways to have good, clean fun in the presence of others. In order to get the most out of life, you need to be able to tap into a rock-solid community, and a good church will give you that. Being totally transparent, this is an area of my life which I need to get better at taking care of. Getting yourself to church is tedious, especially when you have other things to do. I do my best to pray, and I give thanks whenever I can, because the Lord has really given me a lot of blessings.
Faith is a newfound thing for me, but it grows stronger and stronger within my heart with each passing day. I wasn’t in the worst place when I found God, but I wasn’t doing well either. Since I found Christ I’m a nicer, more introspective person, even though I’m not perfect. I think having faith in God is extemely powerful, if not for this reason alone. Consider allowing Christ into your life.
