Your Haters are Never Better than You

I owe a lot to @Bowtiedbull. Bowtiedbull is a great blog, and I’ve been following it since it was known as Wall Street Playboys. Bowtiedbull has a quote, perhaps from the blog or perhaps from Twitter, that reminds people of the fact that their haters are never better than you. I’m not sure where it is, but you should check out Bowtiedbull’s Twitter account. This blog has influenced a lot of my thinking. Recently, I was running some numbers, and realized that someone who I thought of as really wealthy and whose opinion I respected, isn’t all that wealthy after all. Or at least, likely isn’t. As in, they couldn’t hope to attempt what I’m attempting right now (getting rich young). So, I wanted to write this article confirm Bowtiedbull’s statement: your haters are never better than you.

Your haters are never better than you

If you’re a steadfast person, you’re going to find that your haters are never better than you. Oftentimes, they’re similar to you, but either messed up previously or are lacking in self-awareness. They are rarely, if ever, coming from a better reasoned position than you. Don’t worry about the moral high ground, your haters probably don’t have it. You see, people are flawed, and people are busy. Anyone spending a lot of time hating on others is too flawed and not very busy. I could write more on this subject but that’s the long and short of it.

To find that your haters are flawed, you need to be good

While it’s true that your haters are going to be flawed, you need to actually be a steadfast person to be able to see it for yourself. You need to achieve success, be humbled, and find self-confidence. Yes, you need to do all of those things in order to see life for what it really is. I wish I could explain things in a more in-depth fashion. But basically, there is a sense of peace and contentment that comes from doing the work and knowing your craft.

Hate never comes from a place of happiness

If you are happy, you don’t care what other people are doing. People who hate on other people are decidedly unhappy, and they show it by getting wrapped up in other people’s business. Have compassion for the people hating on you. They are likely suffering.

You are never better than your haters

Never. Being better than your hater is usually impossible. If you are better than them for real, they’re probably some truly terrible people. The fact of the matter is that we’re all human. We often have different points of view. We all have blind spots. Things can go wrong for us at any moment. Never delude yourself into thinking that you are better than your haters. You definitely aren’t. You were just given the gift of a clear mind.

Karma affects everyone

Including you. Your experiences of life are entirely dependent on how you treat the universe. When you have a hater, try not to blow a gasket, and try not to get cocky or become bitter. Try to add to the universe instead of ruining it for others. Be cognizant of karma and try to make life better for everyone.

Life is all about luck

If you’re smart, you’ll realize that life is all luck. If it weren’t for luck, you could be the person hating on you. Then, you would be experiencing the consequences of all their actions. If you realize that life is all about luck, you’ll work hard and avoid arrogance. You’ll do the best to create the most opportunities for yourself, while trying your hardest to minimize the amount of bad karma you accrue.

Minimize hate, be happy

If you’re around people who are haters, you should try to cut them out. This can be difficult in certain family situations. On one hand, people in your family want to help you. They want to keep you safe. They provide the support necessary to do the hard work that you want to do.

Don’t let people shake you mentally

Unless you’re with a super successful family, you’re going to be dealing with a lot of mental weaklings. To make it into the top 5% of society or higher is difficult. Even with rich parents, you usually need to follow a blueprint in order to do it without talent. People who are mentally weak will try to shake you up. Sometimes this is out of the goodness of their heart. Other times this comes from a position of weakness. Either way, develop a strong mind and crush the competition.

Old and angry = failed

In some way, some how. The angrier someone is when they’re old, the more they have failed at life. I rarely meet angry old people where I am. This is because most of the old people I know played their cards right. I live in a wealthy area of a poor country. Every old person I know worked hard, did what’s right, and prayed to God. They’re pretty much all successful and surrounded by friends. Avoid those who aren’t in such a state if you can.

Haters don’t apply to hedonism

Haters might not be seeing the hard work that you do behind the scenes. But if you’re engaging in hedonism and calling every single critic a hater, you’re probably an idiot who’s being enabled. If you’re being hedonistic, you had better be doing the work required to also be successful. People don’t respect idle men. You also won’t respect yourself.

Don’t ever let someone who’s hating on you get to your head. They’re almost certainly never on your level. This is only true if you keep working though. If you take time off to get into it with a hater, you’re going to regret it. A lot of time will be spent arguing or being angry, when you could have instead spent time living a great life.

Thanks for paying attention.
