Why Black Culture Looks Degenerate

If you are a black person, especially one living in a Western country, you’ve probably found yourself getting a bit annoyed with “your” people. Maybe I’m speaking for myself, but I find it annoying when black people hype up degenerate stuff (that they may not even do) for the benefit of the internet and media. If you’re a non-black person, you may have noticed this trend. Maybe you say something, maybe you don’t. Either way, it’s pretty well known that “black culture” is synonymous with craziness in a lot of places. I wanted to explore why in this article, hopefully without coming across as someone who hates themselves.

Black people are the face of sports, arts, and the ghetto everywhere

Even in other poor countries. Being black is seen as being tough, hood, and maybe cool. But it’s very rarely the good kind of cool. Most black people who achieve can kind of feel it. We aren’t exactly known for achieving in the intellectual pursuits or staying out of trouble. Why is that?

Lack of development

Generally speaking, black people are the poorest race of people and Africa is the face of global poverty. Sure, African Americans also get stigmatized, but they’re the minority in a country where everyone is on social media. They’re also much poorer and endure worse living standards than their white counterparts. When people are poorer, they do stuff that’s less classy. It’s really that simple. Compare how East Asians and Southeast Asians used to be perceived. Before the rise of Southeast Asia, they were seen in a very demeaning light, if the jokes that were made at my (mostly white) high school were any indicator. Money buys class and status. It’s that simple.

The disparity will appear worse

Africa is developing fast. A lot of the world’s fastest economies are in Africa. More and more people are getting smartphones everyday, and the continent is getting wealthier at an unprecedented rate. But it’s not fast enough. I’ve talked about this before, but Africa is still strikingly and shockingly poor. The amount of development that’s in store for them won’t be enough to make up for the fact that they are starting from such a low place. Forget building stuff. A lot of African countries don’t even have the infrastructure to build stuff.

How can black people improve?

Basically, realize that the world is not the USA and England. Realize where we’re at as a people and try and take things step by step. There’s no need to feel shame about “black culture” if you aren’t a participant in its negative aspects. Just take things step by step, and do what you can to help the community. Don’t set your expectations low, but look for change wherever it’s possible.

Stick with other black people

If you can repatriate to some African or Caribbean country and get a semblance of comfort, you should. It’s hard work on the front end, and requires a lot of patience, but you can help grow your country while making some money for yourself. This can be kind of tough if you end up in a country such as Nigeria, however. Which leads me to the root of the problem.

Fertility rates in West Africa are too high

They aren’t too high for the future of black people. But they are too high if you want to keep unruly black people from being born. Higher fertility rates mean lots of economic growth, but lower living standards for the general populous. I’m not sure what to do about this. Probably tell everyone to grin and bear it while allowing them to fall naturally. More people is almost always better for the overall development of the nation, especially as we get better at maximizing human capital.

Black culture looks degenerate, but so are a lot of other aspects of life. When white people were as poor as black people, they did crazy stuff. Lynchings were only in the 1900s, after all. Before 1980, even America was barely civilized. Most of Africa is poorer than 1960s USA. If you’re expecting the best out of people that are living a life of relative hardship, you’re wasting time. Accept the degeneracy, whether you’re a black or white person reading this. You don’t have to participate.

Thanks for paying attention.
