Should You Go to College or University?

People often ask themselves the question in the title. Is a college degree worth it? At first glance, it might seem hard to tell. People are getting college degrees, but they aren’t getting the results they want out of them. I would argue that yes, getting a college degree is a good idea. Why? Allow me to explain my thinking, as someone who has decided to go back to school.

I pretty much flunked out of college

That was the first time around. I had breezed my way through high school in the academic sense, but by the time I was 20 I had picked up a crippling drug addiction. I did bad things to support my habits and wasted a lot of time. I pretty much wanted to die, because I had been through other bits of trauma in the past. I’m lucky I didn’t do anything too crazy, and I’m glad I’m able to talk about the past. I eschewed college and education, and decided to focus my energy on learning how to make money. It was a pretty good move in some ways, but it was misguided in others. I live in a country where it’s hard to make money. I’ve given up years of my life, but all I have is the foundation. I have a lot of potential to go far if I keep working, but there’s no cushy job out there for me.

A college degree opens doors

The simple fact of the matter is that in order to get a college degree, you need discipline and dedication. It takes four years to get a degree, and while you don’t necessarily need to be a genius to pass, you need to be self directed and meet deadlines. You also need a bare minimum of intelligence to complete the program you’re in, no matter how “easy” you think it is. As a result, going to college will automatically open opportunities to you that might otherwise be closed. A good example of this is English teaching. This stable job requires that you get a bachelor’s degree no matter what in many countries.

A Good Degree Will Give You Skills

In terms of making money, it’s best if you choose a stem field. The world will always need people to build machines, do research, and maintain existing systems. Not all workers in STEM are considered essential, but their creativity is always necessary, as any improvement in the global standard of living is worthwhile. Thankfully, capitalism rewards people who do things that improve living standards, even if it’s not directly. New inventions, when deployed, allow inventors to capture markets by getting rid of inefficiencies in exchange for value. Many of the best degrees will give you the ability to create new things.

A Master’s Degree Or PHD Will Allow You To Make Big Money

Starting a business will probably always be the best way to get “rich”, but not everyone wants to do this. Some of us just want to take on stable, well-paid, and comfortable jobs. We want to play our part in society and go home in peace. Well, a Master’s degree is one of the big barriers between you and that cushy job. Even though many or most masters lead nowhere, the ones that allow us to understand the world around us and keep ourselves healthy lead to some of the most important and prestigious jobs out there. This is especially true as aspects of the Financial and Legal world become more and more automated. The thing about science and engineering is that there’s always something to build. You just might not be building what you want when you want it.

People Who Study Have Healthier, Happier Lives

People who study make more money, get married more often and live healthier lives than those who don’t get any qualifications. This might be because they’re more disciplined, it might be because they’re smarter. Maybe they’re luckier. Either way, the way I see it, people who educate themselves and work hard tend to live much better lives than those who don’t. For this reason, I think it’s worth doing. The work can be tedious and boring at times, but you should be able to find something that you’re interested in, especially if you have a bit of money to spend. It doesn’t really matter what field it is, provided you have an actual plan. You’ll be proud of yourself when you’re finished.

The Cheapest Way To Study

If you have free university in your country, you can ignore this. But if you want a US degree for a total cost of under $6,000, try the University of the People. They have three self-study degree programs, which take between 2.5 and 8 years to complete. These are Computer Science (Bsc), Health Science (Bsc), and Business Administration(BBA). These are all highly practical degrees, and the price is a steal. UOP is a new university, and as such is only nationally accredited. This can create problems for some job and grad school applications. That being said, I’m doing it and it’s a high-quality education. Watch out, however, they don’t accept late assignments!

Go study, if you haven’t already. It’s a good time if you have a good attitude about it and you’ll make more money in the future.
