If you want to succeed in life, you’re going to want to have a “IDGAF” kind of attitude when it comes to winning and creating success for yourself. Right now, it can feel like a lot of money-making options are being closed off. You need to be fantastic at whatever you’re doing in order to see any rewards. Starting a business gives you more long-term hope than finding a job, but right now it can feel like both are pretty dead. This is where you need to have an “IDGAF” attitude. You need to just be determined to win, and willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.
Have supreme self confidence
If you don’t believe in yourself, nothing happens. In order to make anything happen, you need to believe in yourself. Have confidence in your intelligence and your abilities. Work hard and apply your skills in the hopes of being able to create a good life for yourself. Right now, most of the rewards are going to those in the top 1%. Generally speaking, breaking into the top 1% requires starting a business. In order to start a business, you’re going to need a ton of self-belief.
Choose a real craft
If you’re going to be a writer, be a writer. If you’re going to be a videographer, dedicate yourself to the craft. You can be a farmer, or work in hospitality. Finance is a good scene too. If you choose a real craft, you’re unlikely to suffer or end up going hungry. You just need to make sure that your profession is in fact a real profession, and that you’ll be able to do it for years.
Play long term games
Short term thinking is one of the most destructive though patterns. Those who embrace short term thinking are often doomed to experience lives that are difficult and unhappy. This is because short term thinking leads to rough results over the long term. Short-term thinking leads to poor health, poor mental health, and a lack of options in the future. Don’t engage in short term thinking if you can avoid it.
Avoid those playing status games
Lots of people out there are playing status games. They want to spend big bucks in order to look cool and show off. Avoid these losers like the plague. Nothing good can come of hanging with people who are spending money frivolously. You don’t want to be around people trying to look big or tough either. Status games will destroy your life. Work hard to avoid those that play them.
Know your value
It’s important to know what you’re actually worth in this world. A lot of people think they’re better than they are. They live in worlds of delusion and narcissism and allow the world to eventually beat them down as they try to convince themselves that they are winners. You don’t want to be one of these people. Try to keep an honest appraisal of your value. I would say that I’m an average guy nowadays. I know this, and I’m ok with it. Being an average guy kind of sucks, so I work my butt off to get out of this situation. Who knows if I will. Wish me luck.
Avoid leverage
You want to avoid levering up if you can. Debt destroys people. It’s not smart to get into debt. If you can avoid levering up, you’re going to find yourself in a better position than if you take on a bunch of loans. Leverage might seem appealing in the short run, but like status games, it is super destructive. Avoid leverage at all costs.
Understand life expectancy
If you’re in gen Z, try to understand that you’re expected to live a pretty long life. This means that right now, you shouldn’t worry about how broke you are. Instead, try to skate to where the puck is going. Build something that you can see people using for a while, knowing that people are living longer than ever. When my grandfather had his first child, he was 30. Nowadays, that’s like having your kid at 40. Back then, life expectancy around the world was around 55.
Stay healthy
This is the hardest part of trying to succeed. Staying healthy takes a lot of work, and it’s on you to make it happen. If you don’t stay healthy, the odds that your life falls apart completely later on aren’t low. Spend a lot of time focusing on your health so that you can live a good life in the future. Life is incredibly hard if you don’t have your health.
Enjoy every day
Make sure you actually take the time to enjoy every single moment of your life. If you’re young, this often means doing the work required to win at life. But you still want to make sure that you’re able to be happy and stay healthy. There’s no point to life if you don’t live. You only get one shot at this game.
Do what it takes to win. It’s highly worthwhile, and you aren’t likely to regret it. A lot of winning is just not giving a fuck. Trust me. Sometimes it can take longer than you think to succeed, but that’s usually because there are big gains on the other side of your efforts. Stop giving a fuck and be determined to win. People will respect you, you’ll be more productive, and you’ll be far more likely to succeed in life. Adjust your attitude if you want real success.
Thanks for paying attention.
