The last thing anyone should do is build their castle on a foundation of sand. A lot of digital nomads make this mistake at the beginning of their careers. They find something cool, they get to work, and they find that they have a skill. They start making money, living the good life, then….Bam! Something bad happens. They lose all their money on a bad deal. An ad platform changes things. They get banned from a platform. Something tends to go wrong. It happens to the best of us. Life is complicated when we’re young, and it takes time to figure things out.
But you can avoid this mistake if you’re an entry level digital nomad.
All you need to do is diversify.
Diversify your skills and diversify your income sources. Make sure you have multiple marketing channels in place for your businesses. I’ve only been blogging as of late, but I’m also interested in getting onto YouTube. This will allow me to earn additional income, and make more money than I otherwise could have. I’m also studying to complete my tech certifications. If I can finish those, I’ll be way ahead of the game. I’ll have more than 3 ways of making money online. This should be the real goal for any digital nomad.
Diversification takes time and effort. It isn’t super obvious at the beginning. But once you get rolling, you begin to see more opportunities. I’ve just started on my digital nomad journey, but I’m seeing the possibilities begin to open up. I have a lot of stuff up my sleeve, and I’m just beginning to have this stuff dialed in. I won’t make this mistake twice. My money as a digital nomad will be earned across many different platforms.
