You Should Never Be Smoking Weed More Than Once Per Day

Despite having written an article about quitting weed, I’m still smoking weed. I smoke a decent bit less than before, and don’t really smoke cigarettes anymore. I don’t have trouble taking “tolerance breaks” or going a few hours without smoking when I want. But I am addicted to weed. I don’t have a lot of trouble quitting weed when I put my mind to, but I find that weed is my favorite activity. Nowadays I go without weed I get a little nauseous. That is a sign that I need to seriously cut back.

It hit me a couple days ago.

Why am I smoking weed more than once per day?

To be honest, it makes absolutely no sense that I like to do that, even though I am a productive and prolific writer. I decided after a bit of thought that I should only be smoking weed once per day at the absolute most. It just doesn’t make sense to be smoking weed multiple times per day. At all. I will eventually quit weed. I use it to pump out article after article from the comfort of my bedroom. But it’s not actually good for me. It’s just that I need to hit certain net worth goals, and those are most accessible to me if I smoke marijuana at least once per day and write my articles.

You’re making your mouth gross

Tonsil stones, dry mouth, halitosis, cavities. All of this skyrockets if you’re smoking more than once every day. It’s not the move at all. If you limit how much you smoke, your mouth gets cleaner, and your teeth get whiter. You’ll feel, look, and smell better. You’ll also save a bundle on dentistry and the like. Limit how much you smoke, see great results. It’s that simple. Don’t nuke your mouth because you can’t resist getting high. It’s not worth it and will be really expensive in the long run.

You’re damaging your lungs and throat

Smoking weeds once a day or less allows you to smoke for 10 years without creating too much damage. Smokers’ cancer risk is normally measured in “pack years”, or how many years they smoked a pack a day. You can look it up. Keeping your smoke intake at a tenth to 1/25 that level is a way to have fun and be a bit safe. This isn’t medical advice, by the way. Just some reasoning, based on medical information I’ve read online. Nobody can guarantee someone’s risk of cancer and it’s best to consult a doctor on all smoking related concerns. Either way, I wouldn’t bet my life on weed being harmless to the lungs. Limit the smoking.

You could be doing other stuff

Weed can make you extremely productive if you’re doing creative work. But it hampers your ability to do other activities, along with your interest in them. If you want to play chess, learn a new language, or start a new business, smoking weed is one of the fastest ways to sap your own motivation to get it done. After a certain age, you’re going to want to become a well-rounded man or woman. So you’re going to want to limit your intake of this plant.

You’re affecting your metabolism

We all know that weed changes our eating habits. Whether the plant causes us to overeat or unintentionally go hungry, it throws everything out of whack. It’s just not the plant to be smoking all day if you want to maintain a good physique. You’ll end up either too skinny or too fat, there are rarely exceptions. You might also struggle to eat without weed or feel nauseous when you eat without having weed. This is really annoying, and I don’t wish this on anyone else, especially not my readers.

If you’re not a creative, you probably can’t even afford to smoke weed once a day

Nowadays, more and more people are engaged in jobs that require creativity. You can smoke weed if what you’ve done has been well researched and it’s in a creative niche. But weed can make you a lot slow in other ways. It’s not the ideal drug to be taking while proofreading, for example. Different drugs have the potential to affect your workflow in many different ways. Most people aren’t engaged in careers where they can afford to be smoking weed all day. Maybe if you work at McDonalds or 7/11? Even then, you probably aren’t at your best. It’s just that doing your best while working at these places likely doesn’t help.

If you’ve got a setup where you’re able to smoke weed all day every day, congrats. You’re very lucky. But that won’t help you in the long run, even if you’re productive. You’re wasting money, time, and energy on your habit. Your habit probably smells, I know mine does. And you’re missing out on other aspects of life. Overall, being an incorrigible pothead just isn’t worth it. Even if you’re able to maintain the habit, it’s a lower quality of life in the long run. Keep a hard limit and find other hobbies. Making weed your personality trait is cringe as you get older too. It should be a tiny part of your life at most.

Thanks for paying attention.
